| Alexei Grynyuk http://www.grynyuk.com Ukrainian pianist Alexei Grynyuk studied at the Kiev Conservatoire before winning a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music where he studied with Hamish Milne . Notable competition successes include the first prize at the Dyagilev Competition in Moscow, the Vladimir Horowitz Competition in Kiev and the Shanghai Piano Competition in China. Alexei Grynyuk’s increasingly international career has included recital appearances at Wigmore Hall & South Bank Centre in London, Salle Cortot & Salle Gaveau in Paris and the Great Hall of Moscow Conservatoire, as well as in Japan, South Korea and Morocco. “…sublime playing. | Mark Simpson (Clarinet) Mark Simpson is 20 years old and from Liverpool. In 2006 he became the first ever winner of both the BBC Young Musician of the year and BBC proms/ Guardian Young composer of ther year competitions. He has performed as soloist with many of the country's leading orchestras such as the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, BBC Philharmonic, and BBC concert Orchestras. In 2008 he appeared as concerto soloist in BBC proms last night of the proms in the Park in Hyde Park. He is artist in residence with the Northern Chamber Orchestra. As a composer, Mark's work “Threads for Orchestra” was commissioned by the NYO who performed it under Vasily Petrenko in the Sage Gateshead, the Barbican and Symphony Hall. The Times has reviewed his work as “genuine, 100 per cent talent". He is currently reading music at St. Catherine's college and is supported by the BBC performing arts bursary. |
